New Jersey Colonial Kate Monihan and her U18 teammates have advanced to the semifinal at U18 World Women’s Championships in Obihiro, Japan.

New Jersey Colonial Kate Monihan and her U18 teammates have advanced to the semifinal at U18 World Women’s Championships in Obihiro, Japan.

Team USA finished atop Pool A with victories over Canada, Russia and Sweden which gave them automatic entry to the tournament semifinals. They play Finland on Saturday, January 12th after Finland advanced with a 3-2 overtime victory over Sweden earlier today.

Monihan, a newcomer to Team USA, has played defense in all 3 contests and looks to continue to help the team in it’s quest for it’s fifth straight championship.
