January Brings a Flurry of Success to NJC Girls Program
While the predicted snowstorms of January fell a bit short, the same cannot be said of the New Jersey Colonials Girls program.
While the predicted snowstorms of January fell a bit short, the same cannot be said of the New Jersey Colonials Girls program. Individual and team success shined bright throughout the month. Now the teams continue to develop and set their sights on possible playoff berths.
Special congratulations to 19U Major Kate Monihan for earning a silver medal while competing for 18U Team USA as well as Colonials Director Shelly Picard and Coach Audra Richards for earning NWHL All-Star honors with the Metropolitan Riveters!
Winter Classic
Several Colonials teams traveled to Glens Falls, NY over the Martin Luther King holiday weekend to participate in the Winter Classic Girls Hockey Tournament. 12U Minor won the tournament and finished first in all 5 events of the skills competition! The Colonials 14U White, 12U Minor and 10U Minor teams also cheered each other on to capture the tournament Spirit Award for the third year in a row!
Rockville Showcase
14U Major walked away from its a showcase in Rockville, MD with a 3-0-2 record after facing off against top teams throughout the country.
And it continues…
The 12U Major team won the Islanders Holiday Tournament and then posted three ties at the Taft School Jamboree. The 10U Major Team won the Middlesex AAA Tournament and are in first place in the NJYHL.
