Monihan Makes USA U18 Team

19U Major Named to 2019 US Women’s U18 National Team

We are thrilled to announce that the Colonials’ 19-Under defender, Kate Monihan was selected to the Under-18 USA hockey roster last week!

Kate has been a standout defender for the Colonials for several seasons, and she will take her game to the next level as she competes on the international stage in the International Ice Hockey Federation’s women’s world championships in Obihiro, Japan from January 6-13, 2019.

As a member of Team USA, Kate will attend a pre-tournament camp in Los Angeles, CA next week before heading to Japan.

Kate reacts to being selected to the roster, saying, “I am both incredibly honored and grateful to be named to the U18 National team. It is absolutely a dream come true. I had a unique process to make the team which has taught me that no matter what never give up and always continue to work hard on and off the ice to improve your game. I am extraordinarily excited to be able to sport the USA jersey and play with and against the world’s best U18 players.”

Kate will be joining the top U18 players from around the world in Japan, where Team USA will look to win their fifth consecutive gold medal!
