16U Minor Walks for JDRF

COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT SUPPORTS TEAMMATE

On Sunday October 15, the 16U AA Girls participated in the JDRF One Walk in Piscataway, NJ in support of Team Shooting Stars and teammate Sarina Sherman.

Sarina was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was 8 years old. Sarina started to play hockey just months before her diagnosis and has learned how to manage her blood sugar as well as find inspiration along the way through a few NHL players with type 1 diabetes, including Max Domi and Kaapo Kakko (NY Rangers).

It was a great event that started with Sarina singing the National Anthem!

It was a beautiful day and a great way to come together as a team and support someone in our own community.

Go NJC!!

JDRF is the leading global organization harnessing the power of research, advocacy, and community engagement to advance life-changing breakthroughs for type 1 diabetes (T1D).
